Sustainability was one of the key themes of the METAV Düsseldorf trade show, held 11 – 15 March 2014. CECIMO National Associations participating in the Blue Competence Machine Tools initiative organized a joint booth to promote the latest sustainability solutions offered by Alliance Members. The Alliance Members from across Europe presented their latest technologies to customers from various industries.
Success Stories published by Alliance Members in different languages have been used to showcase how energy- and resource- efficient solutions are delivered, with supporting facts and figures. These Success Stories prove that machine tool builders can reach high environmental performances in various ways, through diversified and customized technologies adapted to their customers’ needs.
Some methodologies presented by Alliance Members include mass reduction, reduced energy consumption for the acceleration of functions, heat recovery systems and intelligent monitoring systems. Eleazar Raya, Commercial Director at SORALUCE, says “Our success story gives examples of energy- and resource-efficiency savings, highlighting how SORALUCE’s ecological, economic and social values translate in the manufacturing of sustainable products and processes in milling and boring technologies. With our Success Story, we aim to reach our customers across the world that are interested in increasing their competitiveness through sustainability.”
Besides these vividly illustrated success stories, visitors also had the chance to see a demonstration of sustainability solutions for a machine tool. Filip Geerts, Director General at CECIMO adds: “METAV attracted more than 31,400 visitors from various sectors and it was an ideal platform to show customers and other stakeholders the latest innovations offered by the Blue Competence Machine Tools Alliance Members. Alliance Members demonstrated that energy- and resource-efficiency can be reached through various technologies by doing the right thing at the right stage of production.”
