Not sure if folk have done this setup before; at least I didn't see any mentioned after a quick google search. My solution has worked amazingly well for me. I thought I share.

My solution provides the following features:

1. works for both x & y axises,
2. built-in adjustable torque limiting clutch
3. variable speed via trigger control

This wireless electric drill and screw driver has a variable speed trigger. It also has a built-in clutch. I connect the screw driver to the hand wheel using a socket u-joint and a 15mm socket. I purposely use a 15mm socket even though the nut on the hand wheel is 14mm. This allows me to more easily disengage the hand wheel.

The black and decker screw driver has a 2 speed internal gear box. I normally use the low speed gearing for more torque and lower rpm when doing power feed.

Not even a Bridgeport has a Y axis power feed! Not to my knowledge anyway. Certainly, Bridgeports don't feature a nice wireless electric drill and screw driver!

One word of caution: when operating the screw driver don't put your fingers between the wheel handle and the 15mm socket. You could break your finger!
