This is for everybody looking to buy a EBAY laser.
I looked at a 50 watt laser on ebay and I asked a lot of questions about the laser trying to find out if this was a real dealer that knew the product.They answered all my questions and proved they knew the product.
The laser was warehoused in san leandro California being in the states I hoped that I had a better chance of the laser having no damage.
So I payed my $2000.00 for the laser and waited for the 7 days for delivery.
the fedex truck came on time and with a fork lift brought the huge box to the lift on his truck.
He set the almost 250 pound box gently into the back of my pickup so I could take it to my work shop on my property.
My neighbor came over to help me to lift it out of my truck and that is when I got the biggest surprise of my life...THE BOX WAS EMPTY!
Several calls to the seller and ebay and to fedex have yielded nothing so far.
I will be adding to this thread so keep checking to see the results

Please post the ebay seller's name (it is hard to believe this was a "simple mistake") and give them feedback.

Crazy! I bought my 50W laser from the same vendor a few months ago (because they are relatively close by my office, so I could drive down there if there were any problems). I received my laser without incident (and it is working great), so I don't think he is a scam artist. He even responded to a few of my questions (red light pointer wasn't working), although he wasn't very knowledgeable (by his own admission) about the product. I am guessing he imports lots of items from China, and the laser is just one of many.

I would guess that the China vendor is probably scamming the distributor that you bought from, since I doubt he boxes up the laser.

Did the crate appear to have ever had a machine packed inside? Get forensic with it. The reseller may have a rat in the warehouse that needed a laser. I know that you are mad about it. Who would not be.

I received a package once from UPS. It was supposed to be 3 sheets of .125" steel at 2' x 4'. Had a sticker on the box that said Caution. Weighs more than 70 pounds. Well that box was empty as well. The thing about that delivery or lack of, the UPS driver absolutely knew something was wrong with the shipment but delivered the box anyway. The place I bought it from reshipped and filed the claim.

Your reseller really may not have noticed an empty crate if it was loaded by fork lift.

the box was completely empty less a few pieces of foam
the bottom of the box was broken and more than half the nails in the lid were rusted and bent
I and a friend lifted the box out of the pickup which the fedex driver had placed the box with a fork lift
I as a kid used to fill semis as a part time job and had to tie and strap the boxes to the walls
There is no way the driver had no clue the box was empty as on the bill of lading it stated 236 pounds
The box weight was about 25 pounds.
I opened the lid of the box by just pulling off the lid with no real effort at all

if fedex didn't see the empty box when they delivered. and no record made, then it will be difficult to prove box was empty..


it is not about me or others believe, it is as things are working..

the sticker should show where it is came from, from ware house or from abroad..

I'm sure it is just a pain that you have to deal with because the ball was dropped. If I were the reseller, I would give you a pretty hefty discount. However, since I would rather not give discounts like that, I would insure the package contained the goods.

if driver signs the box could be lifted easily then youre on the right path..
250 pound no way easily lift..

if it was purchased trough on ebay, even paypal, then you have 90 percent chance already getting straight it..

I believe if you used visa, and you can show the written statement by fedex, I think your bank also can reverse it..

Update
Where it stands now is that Fedex and The seller are trying to determine where the laser disappeared
The seller has agreed to ship another laser to replace the one I didnt get.
I have requested for them to send a picture of the packing crate with the top off and the laser inside sitting in the fedex truck
I have also asked if while they are doing their research are they going to wait before sending the laser and the response was no they will ship right away
I will update later when I have more info

The box had rusty nails some were all the way in the frame others were
half way out and bent the bottom of the box looked as if it had been
wet and the support brackets were pried half way off the condition of
the box looked like it had been used several times and would no longer
support the weight of a laser
look closely at the pictures it shows the condition of the box

Escalated claim with Ebay and found out that I have to submit a police report??? Local police say I need to file with the seller IN CHINA!!!!
After a lot of argument with Ebay and telling them I am going to include them in the police report for helping the seller commit fraud they dropped the getting the police report.

This is the latest update...
I got a replacement laser today.
We opened it on the Fedex truck and there was a laser inside this time.
I opened the crate and began to inspect the laser.
The first thing I noticed was dirt and what appeared to by debris and stains in the bottom of the case.
I noticed that the laser was fully assembled and there was water in the laser tube ( I just had a new tube put into my other laser and there was no water in it). Draw your own conclusion on that one.
I looked through the packages to find the assembly and operating instructions and lo and behold... Missing!!!
Next I looked for the software and guess what... Missing!!!
These people want me to leave a positive feedback on Ebay for them How can I? This has been a mess since day 1.
Now I have to fight with them again to try to get these items before I even turn it on to see if it powers up..

Wow. I knew to start with that they do not put much effort into packing those crates.
Sounds like you may have gotten a used one this time. The employee that borrowed the the first one wanted a new one when his tube filled up with water, so swapped it out again and sent that to ya.
