Laser and Laser Systems for Material Processing
Laser Symposium on Electromobility in Aachen
The Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT is organizing a two-day symposium on the application of laser technology in electromobility on 12.2.2020 in Aachen. The event, which is taking place for the second time, attracts visitors with a laboratory tour and 16 lectures.
The topic of electromobility is currently thoroughly discussed in the media. How fitting that the Fraunhofer ILT is holding a laser symposium on this topic at the beginning of 2020. This is particularly interesting because the carbon dioxide fleet limits set by the European Union will apply from 2020. The laser plays a special role in battery production, with the welding of copper components of the accumulators to be highlighted. At the beginning of the first day, the expected 100 participants will receive a laboratory tour. Subsequently, a total of 16 lectures will be held on both days by experts - mainly from industry. The topics covered include laser processes in battery production, laser beam sources in electromobility and production systems in laser material processing. The focus will also be on process monitoring, which proves to be particularly demanding for the production of battery cells.
The program is available online, as is the press release for the event. The participation fee for the two-day symposium is 795 Euro.
