1500W Schiller fiber Laser cooler issue

    Hi Guys,

I have a Schiller 1500W fiber laser (Chinese)and just recently it's been having issue with the coolant going over temperature, and when this happens the laser shuts off.

The machine is a little over a year old.

I can think of a couple of issues. One is that I'm in Thailand, where it's pretty hot most of the time with ambient temp being up around 33° today for example, and also that I'm a bit confined for space with my machine, so there's not a huge amount of airflow around the cooler.

If I take the inspection covers off the front and rear then the issue seems to be resolved, or at least the last two days we have been cutting without any over heating and shutting down.

I'm not totally up to speed as to the workings inside the cooler, but I presume some sort of refrigerator.

Anyone else had similar issues on their machine and managed to solve it?

    Thanks

    Matt

Re: 1500W Schiller fiber Laser cooler issue

It sounds like your Schiller 1500W fiber laser is overheating due to restricted airflow and high ambient temperatures in Thailand. Since removing the inspection covers temporarily resolves the issue, it seems better ventilation is key.

    Here are a few suggestions:

Increase Ventilation: Move the machine to a better-ventilated area or add fans to improve airflow around the cooler.

Check the Cooler: Inspect the cooler for blockages or dust and ensure the coolant level is correct.

Use AC: Consider using an air conditioner or dedicated cooling system to maintain a lower temperature around the machine.

Upgrade Cooler: If overheating continues, upgrading to a more powerful cooler may be necessary.

If the issue persists, consulting a technician or the manufacturer might be the next step.
