    510C-II door interlock

Is there a way to bypass the door interlock in the control?

    Interesting Question

I think your best bet is to find the book with the PLC parameters that came with your machine.

For example, here's the PLC para from a Mazak M32 control, circa 1987 to 1994 or so:

    R2102
    0: MMS SPEC. 0 = NOT AVAILABLE 1 = RENISHAW
    [@MMSU M1032]
    1: LC SENSOR SPEC. 0 = NOT AVAILABLE 1 = IS AVAILABLE
    [@LCU M1033]
    2: MACHINE DOOR INTERLOCK. 0 = DISABLED 1 = ENABLED
    [@MDIT1 M1034]
3: MACHINE DOOR INTLK NEG. 0 = MDCL SIGNAL ALWAYS ON. 1 = DEPENDS ON Sw.

On your matrix, this info would be possibly in your "elec dia" book, or some other book that usually lives in the electrical cabinets.

this info could also bee in your ladder diag book or main book. I forget where the PLC parameters tend to be with Matrix Controls.

When I was at Mazak, it was POLICY that instructing customers on how to disable safety devices was GROUNDS FOR DISMISSAL, so such changes are considered DANGEROUS by Mazak.

And, such changes will be noted on your next Mazak Service report, as the Mazak Service Tech must note all disconnected safety interlocks.

In my 31 year involvement with CNC, I have known personally two people that were killed by CNC machines, and know of many others anecdotally. This is not an issue to be casual about!

The good news is that you can deal with PLC parameters directly on your matrix. it was more arcane hexidecimal conversions and cursor/page navigations on all previous controls.

PS - I've seen some people reverse engineer a interlock key via wire edm or machining. Replacement keys always come with a replacement switch, so that's how most Mazak Techs acquire them. However, they can also be bought from the interlock switch maker for about $5.00, if you want to go the additional key route.

    Auto door not working......for me.

I have an auto-door with a light screen on a "used" but "new to me" Mazak 510C II. Is there a way to determine what M-Code closes or opens the door. I know this sounds simple but I have tried many things. The M122 code unlocks the switch but does not open the door.

Is there a way to View the ladder like on a Fanuc?

    Any hints will be appreciated.
