6040 CNC Linear Guide Rails Upgrade

    Hi,

I would like to replace original linear guides and carriages (cheap and flimsy) with Igus TS-01-25 linear guides (https://www.igus.eu/product/drylin_TS_01?artnr=TS-01-25) and drylin® T guide carriage TW-12.
Total height of assembly (carriage + guide) is app. 36 mm. Is this reasonable and functional solution?

    Hi,
those rails you have linked to are aluminum......are you sure that solution will last long enough to justify the cost?

All the better machines use steel rails, and I'm sure you've seen plenty, so what make you think aluminum is better?
