    60hz question .

    Hello friends.

I've the opportunity to aquire a 2006 cnc vertical machine center wich is wired to 220v 60hz and 40kva.

In my country we run 220v 50hz.

How it could affect the machine electronics or motors?

It is possible to find a converter from 60hz to 50hz?

    Thank you in advance.

Any induction motors ran directly on line will run proportionally slower, otherwise you normally do not see that much difference, some have a concern about the motor inductance on 50Hz, I have never seen a problem.
If you have a spindle controller or VFD then it can be ran at usual rpm.

OK. Thank you. I will look for a VDF.

I think you miss understood, the last Post, the machine will have a VFD spindle Drive so that part will be Ok, unless it has been custom made for that machine, you may have some other problems with electronics though, mostly things will run hotter, Check on the machine spec's most will say on the machine Tag 50/60Hz

What is the machine Brand name, and where was it manufactured

Maybe the spindle and electronics would run ok, or a bit hot. But water pump and chip conveyor Wil run a bit slow.
