Angry Been RIPPED OFF !! Beware

Hey guys had a bad experience with JEFFCNC was adamant about what we were machining and even asked if he wanted our .vnc file. He did not want to see it, ask me to pay and then send sample print out of basic program so he could see machine format expected. He told me to order 4th axis simultaneous post from his website so I did. We got it and it did not put out any A rotation, so after going back and forth a few times he then asked for our .vnc. He then replied we could not use 5 axis programming with 5th locked at zero and we need a 5th axis post to do that at an additional $899 above the $574 we already paid him. He said he had already spent time so he did not know what else he could do for me!!! Never accepted any ownership in the problem. Never showed any intention to rectify without being paid more money......I'm pretty sure that would be called extortion!

I washed my hands of him and had AJESMS work on a post for us. He has been a joy to work with and we have a wonderful working post and are cutting parts!! His prices are reasonable and his knowledge is paramount.

I'm sure there are guys who have got post from JEFFCNC but my experience was horrid and has left me with $574 gone from my pocket! Think about it before you jump make sure your post writer really understands what you want and expect to get, insist on sending that part file so they know. If they are not concerned and only seem interested in you sending the money walk away....no actually RUN!

You should really do a little research before you spend $574 next time. Do yourself a favor next time and pick up a phone and ask questions like that to licensed professionals that can point you in the right direction and tell you right away that you would need a 5-axis post in order to output the required programming. Then once you have all the information you need you can go to a guy like JEFFCNC or JOEVNCBLOBXXXPOSTMAKER and get them to create you post with every possible piece of information about your machine/modules as possible.

JEFFCNC had no idea of what you were working with and that was your responsibility to tell him before you bought a product. Post making is NOT easy and there's a reason so few people actually do it.

A little research goes a long way and saves you a ton of cash.

I guess you missed the part where I ask him if he wanted our .vnc file and he said no. But then when there was a problem he wanted to see it. I made the assumption that when you ask to do simultaneous 4th axis machine of 3d objects, and that we wanted continuous a motion on the fly that the post writer would know that we are not wanting the y axis to stay in center-line and milling a slot!

Yeah, you just assumed. Never assume. Always ask.
Now you know not to waste money based on assumptions.

Glad you got your problem solved though.

At that time, I didn't know how to do turning and milling composite post-processing, so my friend asked them to customize the post-processing. After we agreed on the price, they increased the price halfway, and the 5-axis strategy had not yet been opened!
