Calling All Veterans!! Newbie here. Can't get mill to move.

Just as the title says i can't get my mill to move. I have a C10 BOB, KL-4030 Drivers. I think I've pretty much narrowed it down to Mach 3. Voltage going to everywhere its suppose to, the only problem i found is when i try to jog a axis the COM or negatives on the BOB has no ground. PLEASE HELP!!! This is day 4 of rewiring and head scratching.

Post a schematic or wiring diagram and a screen shot of your mach3 config pages. Easiest way to help you!

    Pulse+ Port2
    Pulse- Com
    Dir + Port3
    Dir- Com
    Enable + Open
    Enable - Open

    EN 5V+

15 Ground- No Estop light in Diagnostics

In Mach 3 my setup is as follows
X Axis- Step Pin 2 Direction Pin3 Port 1&1 (Tried Active Low checked and Unchecked)
    Y Pin 4&5 Port 1
    Z 6&7 Port 1

Getting 3.3volts at the end of the Parallel Cable
I'm assuming my address is correct. 1 I ran Port address in the Mach3 folder and also in Diagnostics Menu I have 7 lit lights.
    Tried Sherline Mode.
Motors lock just can't get the darn things to jog.

Sorry can't give a screen shot as I'm at work right now but if more is needed I can when I get home. Just tell me what you guys would like shots of.

Is your computer in EPP mode? You need to set that in BIOS. Are there any DIP switches on those drives?

Dont know where to start on the questions.

In the first few lines it looks as though you are using ports 2 & 3, do you mean pins? That is what it seems to be judging from the next paragraph.

Also you mention pin 15 to ground and no changes on the diagnostic screen. Have you assigned pin 15 in Mach?

3.3 volts? Are you using a laptop? Not a deal killer always but the lower outputs have been responsible for issues in the past.

You should be getting 4.5 to 5V for the switching to occur. The threshold to change direction is around 2.8 to 3.5 volts and the hardware may not be interpreting the signal properly. Zero volts for low and over 3.5 for high signal.
I am not completely useless.......I can always serve as a BAD example.

look at their other pdf for that driver it is showing +5v to the step + and dir+ and en+ then you would run step and dir to their negative counter parts.

go with the modified version and add a jumper to the en+ then you'll be good.

what is confusing about the ENABLE input is its a negative logic input
so the drive needs no input to be enabled !!!!

when the - ENABLE is connected to ground and the + ENABLE to +5V
current flows into the KL-4030 enable opto-isolators LED , switching ON the photo transistor that disables the KL-4030 driver

It says that the negative is to disable and is normally left disconnected. That feature would be used as a button disable drivers.
