    Question Chromium Carbide

I was just asked by our sales departement if we can cut Chromium Carbide plates with our CNC plasma. With a little research turns out we can which I did not know!

My question is; Is there a different type of consumable to be used to cut such material or can we use our regular mild steel consumable? By the way we use a HPR130 from Hypertherm.

Thank you in advance for you input.

    Re: Chromium Carbide

We tried to cut chromium carbide and the torch kept diving into the metal. Which gas should be used to cut this. Just oxygen?
