Question Clipping Planes, regions, and their editiblilty

Does anyone have a good insight as to how to modify the region or clipping height for an existing tool path?

Sometimes when editing and resuing a toolpath, these numbers or regions remain with the tool path, while other times the numbers revert to whatever they were with the original toolpath. While changing the geometry is straightforward, altering the clipping paths and regions can be challenging and I can never tell what I can change and what I cannot.

The context here is using template files or copying and pasting layers and objects to create similar parts in the same file. Any insight would be terrifically appreciated.

Yes, I've had this issue too. In 5X.

What I do is take the toolpath lead in line, and use Z Cplane in Rhino icon.

Basically make a whole new toolpath using existing toolpath as a Z reference, then alter clipping planes as needed. If you rebuild existing toolpath it can get buggy with the moving of clipping planes sometimes.

I have right clicked toolpath and copied them in Rhino tree, that does work sometimes too

I will add, order is very important in MC.

I do clipping planes first, then region curves.

In my work flow I don't ever click un load region curves icon.

Seems to have to make me re select model again if I click that.

Just remembering steps I faced with same problem.

If I rebuilt toolpath, and something didn't look right... I would click undo in Rhino. Re select model in MC and rebuild toolpath again it would work.

I re select model often in MC during my workflow.
