    Question Cnc lathe canned cycle

How do I slow down the feeds and speeds in a canned cycle g81 at the end of a drill cycle so the blank doesn’t shoot out and break the glass again

    Hi Sbrown,
My answer is you can't slow down the feeds and speeds with canned cycle G81 because it is a fixed cycle. If you want to control feeds and speeds for drilling, you can build your own custom drilling cycle with macros for example using G65 for Fanuc control.

U'drills will form the slug that shoots out. Same reason you don't U'driil stacked plates. Find an alternative...

U'drilling from both ends... is the suggested solution.

Or have a setup that contains that slug.

Or a different tool (pointed) that doesn't create a slug.

To slow down the feeds and speeds in a G81 canned cycle at the end of a drill cycle, you can use the G-code commands to adjust the feed rate (F) before the retract motion. Consider adding a lower feed rate just before the retract command to ensure a smoother exit from the hole, which will help prevent the blank from shooting out. Additionally, you might want to increase the retract height to give more clearance.
