We bought Gildemeister CTX 400 with Heidenhain CNC Pilot 4290
There is issue with machine start
I will describe chronology:

1. When we turn on machine, windows 98 show some errors after "blue screen of death" appeared. Unfortunately, operator did not saved firs errors, only BSOD photo we have


The machine was turned off, we decided to remove the image (clone).
2. When we found a suitable HDD IDE. We turned on the machine, the machine turnedon without errors. All OK.
3. We turn off the machine, after we removed the image (ghost) and cloned (acronyx). There were no mistakes.
The disc worked with a loud noise and we turned it off
4. Further manipulations were tried with the purchased SSD with IDE controllers and HDD.
Current HDD has like native 500 mA.
5. The BIOS sees the disk, the splash screen is loading, the W98 desktop appears and then when the virtual machine starts to load, than a "Error 2 can't load Vdx" pops up

I press "OK", the loading continues. And the second window flies out
"Unable to open Vxd x \\ PLX_90xx.vxd <, Error code2". photo attached


I afraid we have damaged disk image
I ask for your advice or maby some have disk image?

Problem solved.
The problem was solved by a colleague, usually he does everything sequentially, but this time he did several operations at once and it all worked.
The problem went away after changing some protocols in the BIOS, he tried various options and some of the necessary ones matched.
Resetting settings didn't help.

Hi,

I'm having same issue this week with our CTX400 machine. We suspected a hard disk crash. We made a data recovery and installed a new hardrive. During the recovery, it was noted that some sectors on the old hard drive were bad. We don't know if we lost data or not.

With the new hard drive installed, we have same issue than you - "Unable to open Vxd x \\ PLX_90xx.vxd <, Error code2". Windows 95 is booting but we get the error when the Heidenhain program start to load.

Can you share more details about how you recovered your machine by the bios?
