Unhappy EMG message on Fanuc Series 16i-LA

    Hi everyone,

I'm in the rehabilitation of a cutting machine Model NTC TLV-510 whith Fanuc 16i-LA control and Fanuc Laser C2000C. The CRT shows me the message "EMG" in the
Diagnostic option the number 014 "Waiting for reset, esp, rrw off 1", reading the manuals says this alarm "NC is in reset state" and perform the steps
that tell me manuals but still display shows me the EMG message.

Any idea how to achieve remove this message???

PS I'm new gay whit the CNC

    Attached some pictures.

G8 bit 4 must be on and X8 bit 4 must be on too. Verify in the ladder why G8.4 is off. If X 8.4 is off too then you will have to look in the wiring prints to see what turns that on.

    Hi drdos,

Thanks for your answer, I see in the ladder and I don´t receive the signal X8.4, I see the wiring diagram and this signal is from the module Fanuc 16L but i dont know which is this module.

    I attached some pictures

    Regards

X8.4 cointains all the emergency buttons on your machine(operator emg stop;chip conveyor emg stop; mpg emg stop if you have;etc) and also the hard limits of your machine too are on this signal so you need from electrical diagram the whole safety circuit that must be separate on one page so we need to see that page.
the x8.4 has a 24 v and is traveling all over the machine through the emg stop buttons and hard limits and now it is stopped somewhere and you need to find where.

I also have this type of problem.
Machine is turned on, everything is fine, no alarms, but it is stuck in "Reset" stage.

I also have it it diagnostic that it is waiting for reset signal.

Re: EMG message on Fanuc Series 16i-LA

I tried changing Spindle Amplifier and its cable which connects amplifier to the CNC mainboard to the other machine and it works there so it is not problem.
Also, I have diagnostic code DGN 409 which from what I can tell, says everything is fine on CNC side with communication with spindle amplifier:

Recently I've lost all parameters on the machine and had to transfer them back so im suspicious of some parameter mismatch, but I've double and triple checked them and they seem fine.

Also on that diagnostic it says that parameters are ok if bit #3 of dgn 409 is 0 and it is!

So what else could be wrong with this cannot reset state of the machine?

why we are talking about 2 different machines?
first post is starting with 16i-LA and know you are coming with pictures from a 16-M?
is anything you are not telling us?

If you read the whole post you will find that allenp jumped onto pacso post because he has a simular issue. It would have been better if allenp had just started his own.

Re: EMG message on Fanuc Series 16i-LA

    Okay the problem is solved!
It was one parameter "missing", or I could not input it at first because it showed me message to confirm input of the parameter data with "Delete" key, which I thought was on the physical keyboard of the machine (I tried all keys, none of them wouldnt input that parameter). But no, it can be confirmed only by opening software keyboard (ABC key on physical keyboard) and pressing delete. After I have input that parameter, it works!!

It was parameter 9937. Thankfully, I've left myself a message on paper where my parameters were printed and yesterday I found that reminder and tried inputing it again, successfully this time!

    Thanks for your help guys!!
