    Eztrak dx axis drive off

Hi from England, I have had my eztrak dx bought new in 1995. Never had this problem before and was hoping someone could help out. While in the middle of machining both the x & y axis stopped and an error message "axis drive fault" appeared.Tried rebooting the machine to home numerous times to no avail. Both drives have one red and one green light
I thought maybe one of the boards had loosened but all ok. I have read a few threads of a similar nature but not sure what to try next so any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Both the X and Y drives likely share a DC power supply or transformer.
If both axes dropped out at the same time, it could be that the power supply feeding the drives is faulty, undervolting, or has blown a fuse.

Thanks for the suggestions, I tried rebooting again today and noticed both the x & y handles appear to be under load and ready to home until I hit the home button then they both go loose as if the power was taken away and the axis fault message appears. Also tried experimenting by swapping the plugs around on the x&y axis boards this resulted in the X axis moving a few inches and the stopping.
I'm beginning to think it may be a software glitch maybe.
