Dream coming true...my boy and I are picking up a late 90s Fadal 15xt and need some help with rotary phase converter sizing. The machine has been running 220 3phase, and don't want to switch it out to single phase right now (there are potential jobs coming with the machine). The fadal manual says the 15 'requires' 40/45amps (230VAC)...but read where these spindles are 10hp (15HP over power condition) and should be able to run on a 15-20hp phase converter and even a 20 amp breaker...does anyone have experience with that? reason I am asking is currently my garage has 60 amp service, but only plan on running this machine off this single RPC for now, which seems to suit nicely for a 15-20hp RPC. I do plan on upgrading to a 100amp service in the future, but want to get the machine commmissioned for the jobs ASAP.

Thanks for all input...AndyDoc
