    Fanuc 0M I/O Board upgrade

I'm using a Fanuc controlled milling machine with a GE Fanuc 0M control. The I/O C5 board does not have an M18 connection, it only has M1 and M2 (it is an A16B-1212-0222).

Is it possible to replace this board with an I/O C6 (A165-1212-0221) or I/O C7 (A165-1212-0220)to gain the M19-49 connection for high speed skip?

I really thought all of the controls had a skip input, but pg. 82 of the Series 0/Series 00/Series 0-Mate Maint. Manual says you've got to use a C6 or C7 board for skip.

Does anyone know if this is plug and play?

Thanks to anyone that can lend some knowledge on this.

Re: Fanuc 0M I/O Board upgrade

I should have mentioned, the point of the upgrade is to add an Renishaw MP-11 to this machine. If there is another way to activate the skip signal without replacing the I/O board, I would try that as well.

I have another machine using the same probe and been it's great.
