My machine is an old MHP MTC-2 with a GN6 control, from what I can tell it is just a FANUC T6 control re-badged as a GN. Machine was built in 1982, and only has 125hrs on it, and is in very, very good shape.
Being an old T6 control, it does not have geometry offsets, so I use G50 with an x and z value to offset to the tool. This works, but is very frustrating vs a modern control, and is responsible for the only two crashes I've had on the machine.
A few weeks ago I stumbled by a video from OlsonKustomWorks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJ6-...index=5&t=114s), where he upgrades the memory in is hold Nakamura with a T6 and turns on geometry offsets. I gave this a go on my machine and parameter 302 cannot be changed. I tried changing all 8 bits individually and none of them can change.
I did some more digging and realized that his must be a T6B and mine is certainly a T6A. I did some more digging and cannot really find anything that says what makes an A an A and a B a B. But I did realize that there is a board in his machine that mine doesn't have called "PC MODEL-B" could this be it? I have this board from an old Takasawa mill I scrapped out, but I am sure it can't be as easy as just installing it right?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! If I can get this figured out, and working, I will do a whole write up on how to upgrade.
Thanks,
Brenden
