    G71 cycle

When programing a G71 rough turning cycle, I was taught to always start and end the X at the same diameter, now I see programs that start and end at different diameters and they work, I thought the tool would come out at a angle of the 2 diameters when done, now I see it will come out to Z start point straight and then move to the start X diameter, is this something new on newer controls? (this is a 0i TD and a 21i TB) or was I wrong all these years? Thanks

    Re: G71 cycle

I have a 18i from 2006 and the point I go to before calling the g71 is the startpoint of the cycle. After g71 I rappid to start contoured and go g1 to the end of the contour.

Thanks for the reply, yes I see what your doing, like I said I always start and end at the same X diameter, it seems like the older controls if you had 2 different X start and end points, when it was done it would come out at a angle and that could be trouble, the newer controls wait to go back to the X start diameter after it comes out to the start Z position and I like that better. just want to know if I'm rite thanks
