Genius CT37 glass cutting CNC moving by itself

Hello guys, I'm new in the CNC sector and have to work with Genius CT37 glass cutter at work. Started with zero experience 3 months ago (and no school for such machines).

In the past 2 months the machine moved by itself at full speed from position zero all the way to the other end of the table. I'm afraid it will push a piece of glass along with it and cut me (as when I have to work with the glass, I have to pull the plate a bit beyond the table margins, so the machine can push it if it will move again by herself. What should I do as my employer shows little interest in repairing it.

Any clue why is it moving by itself ?

    Thanks

If it's servo-driven, it's probably servo runaway. That happens when the encoder gets disconnected from the system. In a servo feedback loop, the encoder signal is what inhibits movement; the motor is constrained to moving only to the encoder count that's immediately ahead of its current position. But if that signal is missing, it will zoom to the end of its travel. Check the wiring to the encoder - if you're lucky, you'll discover a bad or missing connection.
