Gerber 408: Y-axis error when travelling at speed

Where the carriage moves with up arrow, ie away from me and the keyboard, it can move at speed without error.

If the carriage moves with down arrow, towards me, I will get numerous errors. I can use "Reset", press down arrow for the process to repeat where the carriage moves, then stops abruptly with beeping.

It's notable that it doesn't happen at low speed, such as when orienting.

Ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

The issue may be related to the motor’s feedback loop.
The Y-axis motor or encoder might be losing position or feedback signals when moving in that direction.
Check for any loose or damaged wiring, particularly the encoder wiring or connections.

Thanks for the ideas. I have checked the linear bearings, cleaned and re-oiled them. I feel the carriage moves smoothly and that this ought not be the source of the issue.

As suggested my next task is to take a look at connectors.

i have two sabre's and the teflon coating starts to wear out on the lead screws. I had replaced the lead screws to fix it before, but I figured out that spraying the lead screw with dry graphite lubricant fixed the problem.
also blowing out the lead screw nut often also helps.
