Angry Haas VF-3 will not advance after reading tool length offset and reaching initial z

So we had this issue about a year ago. 1996 VF-3. Program will not advance after reading tool length offset and reaching initial z position. Screen says "Wait or Reset" on lower left of CRT and "buffering" on lower right of CRT.
We cleared it in MDI before but did not document what was entered. Tech was 2 days trying to get it to go through. Something about it being caught in between positions or hung on a calculation. No error message. No alarm.
machine will move to locations commanded. Including Z moves with no tool offset entered. g43 and g42 however it will not advance past that line. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks.

...Spindle Drive sensor area maybe...feed hold til up to speed sounds like.

Thanks for reply. Don't think so however because it gets hung even with no spindle speed commanded.
