Hello

We have Hardinge CHNC Quest 42. Our first problem happened the machine turret would not seat in the reverse direction. Contacted Hardinge and they wanted us to first try to (set turret home) they sent us the instructions to do so. This did not help. We did find the problem and it was the rubber coupling on the turrets servo motor, it was broken on one of the spider legs. We replace it and the problem with the turret seating down had now been resolved. But now we had another problem - after turning the machine off the manually indexing on the turret would be off, for instances input tool 1 and it would not move, all inputs would work. If we power cycled the machine and the set turret to home ( instruction Hardinge sent us) the machine would work fine. But the other day operator crash the tool - program was suppose to go tool 3 but went to tool 5.
Now it sems to have this problem of manually turret tool indexing - turret forward no issues response to every manual input, but reverse if you input 2 tool space backwards it will not do anything, if you input 1 tool space it works, 3 tool spaces it work and so on

Hope you guys can help me.

Thanks JR
