    kitamura mdi programming help

This is my first post here.

I'm new to running a Kitamura MyCenter2 and having trouble getting the machine to take my MDI simple program for a zero point return of z axis.
The problem i'm having is that when I trun the switch to MDI and type in G28 G91 ZO: I have a program called up that I use to warm the spindle up and I can't seem to be able to input the typed in MDI info from the bottom of the screen.
Any sugestions how to get the MDI info to input up to the top of the screen so I can press clycle start?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Maybe there is an existing "warm up" program in the memory that has to be
run before you can move the axes..

check the Key edit protection, it could be on.
The best way to learn is trial error.

I tried switching the data lock key, that did not make any difference.
I can call up other programs on the program screen while switched to MDI but can not get any of my typed out MDI program to load to the top of the screen so I can run the MDI program.
    What am I missing?

    Yes, EOB then WR
That should take what I have keyed in and put it on the top of the page and allow me to press cylce start. I can type the code in the bottom of the screem but when I press WR it does not take the info to the top of the screen. I wonder how I can get the current program to dissappear and have a screen that will allow me to enter the MDI prog

What model of Fanuc? Most newer models require you press the INSERT key, NOT the WRITE key. Have you tried that?

Sorry, I thought it was Fanuc control but now found the manual and it is a Yasnac I80 control.

Guys, It turns out the modal switch had been replaced at some point. It was replaced wiith a longer than original switch that allowed it to barely rub against the steel bracket behind it holding the circut board causing a short circut.
    Fixed now.
Thanks for all the replys and help!

    Re: kitamura mdi programming help

I understand how frustrating it can be when MDI commands don’t execute as expected. On some Kitamura models, you might need to confirm the input by pressing Input or Write before the command moves to the top section. Also, check if there’s an active program that needs to be reset or canceled first. Some machines require switching to Edit Mode, clearing any active program, and then entering MDI mode again.

If you're dealing with more complex programming challenges or need guidance on CNC coding, programming help resources can be valuable in troubleshooting such issues. Let me know if any of these steps work for you!
