    Mazak Cam M2 Error 448 CMT Malfunction

    I have a Mazak VQC 20/50B that was fully operational until the batteries died and I lost all parameters.

    I have replaced the batteries and attempted to reload my parameters that I have saved on a PC. I normally send it using the CMT function of the machine. It used to work but now I only get an error on the machine (448 - CMT Malfunction) .

    So far I have done the following:

    I thought it could be a cable fault so I made a new cable with the following pinout:
    DB25 - DB9
    1 - shield
    2 - 2
    3 - 3
    4 - 8
    5 - 7
    7 - 5
    6, 8, 20 jumpered on machine side

    I set the OP parameters as follows on my machine:
    OP2 - 2
    OP3 - 109
    OP4 - 70
    OP23 - 16
    OP24 - 16
    All others are zero

    I am using the following settings on the DNC program:
    Baud - 4800
    Data bits - 7
    Stop bits - 2
    Handshaking - Xon/Xoff
    Code - ASCII even
    EOB - CR/LF

    I always get the same error on the machine when trying to send or receive any files. It fails both ways.
    Neither the machine nor the PC shows any signs of communication.

    This is the only parameters I have and I really need the CMT function to work. Before the batteries died it used to work perfectly. I am not sure what else I can try or check to see what the issue is . Any help will be appreciated.

    Re: Mazak Cam M2 Error 448 CMT Malfunction

    Hi,
    I have a similar problem. I haven't found a solution yet. I suspect the problem is due to the settings of the parameters DP0 - DPF. It would be great to find the meanings of these parameters.

    My first test was this compination:
    DP0 = 16
    DP1 = 16
    DP2 = 0
    DP3 = 0
    DP4 = 0
    DP5 = 0
    DP6 = 0
    DP7 = 2
    DP8 = 16
    DP9 = 16
    DPA = 16
    DPB = 16
    DPC = 16
    DPD = 50
    DPE = 30
    DPF = 0

    doesn't work for me

    Then i set like this:
    DP0 = 16
    DP1 = 16
    DP2 = 1
    DP3 = 0
    DP4 = 0
    DP5 = 0
    DP6 = 0
    DP7 = 1
    DP8 = 16
    DP9 = 16
    DPA = 30
    DPB = 10
    DPC = 10
    DPD = 2
    DPE = 250
    DPF = 0

    This was on the device when I got it and same alarm. 448. But computer serial see now something.

    I managed to get mine working. I replaced the RS232 drivers and receiver chips on card FX727. There is 3 drivers (SN75150P) and 1 Receiver (SN75189N).
