Multicam MG Series Modbus failure / inverter fault EF3

We are a small fab shop running a Multicam MG series router. I am not the operator and my knowledge of this machine is limited, so forgive my lack of terminology, but our actual operator is even less knowledgeable so I was asked to post and try to find a solution XD

Our machine apparently had some kind of electrical short. The connector to the fan on the spindle was partially melted. The fan failed; we aren't sure whether this was caused by the short or was the cause itself. Regardless, we replaced the connector and fan, which now seem to run fine.

Our current problem seems to be with the Modbus not initializing. We can move the carriage but it isn't homed and so stops early. In sequence, we get the following messages / errors when we try to Home the machine:
    Initializing Spindle
    Motor Drives Enabled
    Motor Drives Disabled
    System Interrupted - Inverter Fault
    MODBUS: Not Initialized

If I try to Home it again, I get a different set of messages:
    Initializing Spindle
    Motor Drives Enabled
    Finding Home
    Motor Drives Disabled
System Interrupted: Inverter Fault / External Fault (EF3)

The few references we can find lead us to believe it's either an issue with the RIO board or the Inverter. At this point we have taken apart the carriage / spindle assembly to check for other faults and found nothing. I was led to believe the Rio board is located near the Z belt on the carriage but there doesn't seem to be anything there.

We have thoroughly checked the main junction box for faults and replaced one bad fuse. We are concerned that the issue is just that we need to clear the error from the system, but we have no idea how to do this.

I opened up the Inverter to check for faults and found none visible. One reference led us to a specific wire leading into the Inverter but I couldn't see anything loose or damaged.

At this point we are trying to figure any or all of the following issues out:
    1) Where is the Rio Board, and are replacements available?
    2) Is there a way to manually clear the system of errors?
    3) Is there a readily available replacement for the Inverter, if this is the issue?
    4) Are there any other obvious culprits which we have not considered, which could be causing the error code and modbus failure?

Any help is appreciated, as this is crippling our business and none of us are technically savvy enough to do more on our own. I have pictures I will try to add later. Thanks!

    A MG doesn't have a rio board.....

Do you have a electrical drawing for the MG machine?

Ah, well that explains our inability to find it then. No, we don't have any drawings, just a basic instruction manual for running the machine. Do you know what could prevent the Modbus from initializing, or cause a fault in the inverter?
