MX3660 - Correct wiring for limit switch sensors ?

    Hi,

I have a 3 axis CNC with 4 total sensors, the Z has it`s own sensor, the X has it`s own sensor & the Y shares 2 sensors. I`m trying to figure out the wiring into the MX3660 as well as the external 12v DC plug.
    -------------------------------------------------------------

In the Leadshine mx3660 manual shows the sensors go to:Input 1,2 & 3.

Example for machine with 4 sensors:

    Input 1 (X axis)1 black wire
    Ground: Blue wire
Input 2 (Y axis) both black wires together
    Ground: Blue wire
    Input 3 (Z axis) 1 black wire
    Ground: Blue wire

But there is no info showing the other +12v wire from the limit sensor. There is also no other info about what to do with the external 12v plugs (-) wire.

    -------------------------------------------------------

I have heard on another forum that you only need to connect the black wire from the sensors to the 3 separate Inputs, and nothing goes into the MX3660 Ground
and then wire the 4 Brown wires to the external 12v + wire and the 4 Blue wires from the sensor goes to the external 12v- wire.

Or does something else need to me connected to the Ground for the sensors to work?

Is there anyone who can help me with this?

    Thanks

It sounds like they are proximity sensors if you put a picture up someone will be able to help you. NPN I have attached the wiring diagram for. Common ground and 12v supply from your board, black to input pins. When activated the sensor will provide a ground to the input pin. I also dont know how your setup is wired, but you may need to put a resistor into the circuit, the proximity sensors often max out at 300ma. What this means is they will work for a short time if at all before not working.

Yes, they are definitely proximity sensors.

Thanks for your response, it is helpful, but I still don`t understand how the wiring goes as far as the GRND connections go with the MX3660, I think I need a more layman's instructions.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your help.

Yes, I have NPN NO proximity sensors on my CNC.

I understand in the schematic that the Black goes to the "Input" ( 1,2,3) of the MX3660.

But does this mean the "Ground" from the MX3660 goes out to connect to the (+) Brown line?
