My Computer Died PCNC1100S3 w/ PC

The machine has run pretty much trouble free until recently. I was having a hard time booting up so I just left it running, estopped it, and turned off the monitor. I've been doing that for a close to a year. I have no complaints really, but I don't plan to replace the machine. It's still good enough for what I use it for. It finally died after a power failure I was able to just boot up all my other machines, but the computer on the 1100S3 is dunzo.

I went ahead and ordered the, "PathPilot Controller for PCNC Mills and 15L Lathe." I'm to busy to build a new machine controller PC right now, but I may recycle the 5i25 card for a future build.

I already read the installation manual and it seems simple enough.

    1. Anyway, are there any tricks or surprises to hooking up the compact all in one controller?

    2. Will I be able to modify the files to use my VISTA CNC pendant like I could with my old PC controller or is it done now?

    3. Did they ever release a pendant for this machine (1100S3)? I could use the shuttle, but it was never as intuitive to me as a pendant. I have 6 other machines with pendants, and pendants work for me. I had some conflicts between mouse/keyboard/pendant that I resolved by putting them on different USB buses on the computer. Some machine specific would sure be nice.

    Hi Bob,
I made this pendant for PathPilot. It is 100% compatible with the Shuttle but in a pendant style enclosure. I’ve been testing it for the last 12 months, so I guess it is ready for prime time.

Let me know if you’re interested in trying it out?

    Cheers

    Peter.

MadeWithCNC sells a nice pendant that plugs into a USB port and can handle up to with up to 5-axis systems with buttons for the most used functions and pots for speed, feed, and velocity. Works great on both the PCNC 1100/S3 and the 15L.
