Hey there, I'm new to posting so hopefully I'm in the right place, let me know if not.

The company I work for are looking to buy a new CNC and have asked me to research. The main constraint is the size of the CNC room, which is 2300mm high, 4000mm wide, and 4650mm long. I can extend the length of the room by around a meter but not the width or height. This has made the search pretty rough because even if I find a machine which is technically able to fit in the room, the light curtains/matts/minimum distance around the machine is putting a hard stop to that. So my primary question is if any of you know of machines that have a 5x10ft processing area but a small overall size. I think my best bet is a machine that uses bumpers as the safety measure, or that is flexible on safety measure placement.

Secondly is the fact that we're in the UK. My search is returning a lot of decent brands the are mostly in the US. I don't mind an imported machine as long as the UK dealer can provide good service and maintenance. But ideally I'd like to buy from a company that has a presence in the UK in order to get quick parts and repairs, and a dedicated knowledge of the machine I'm buying. Ideally I'd like to avoid rebranded Chinese imports claiming to be designed in the UK.

Lastly, it would be great if the machine was compatible with Vcarve. We're a creative company and have had great success using Vcarve to achieve everything we're after. I don't mind a CNC that has it's own proprietary software if it's very creative, and I have come to realise that nearly all of the decent brands will do, but if it's also Vcarve compatible that is a game changer.

I fear that I'm after the impossible! Biesse, Homag, Felder, Holz-Her etc are too big. Have heard that Thermwood, Anderson, Northwood, Multicam, Shopsabre and CR Onsrud are good but are US based. The one that I've felt the most hopeful about is the SCM Morbidelli N100. SCM said they would be happy to help get it working with Vcarve, it has a small footprint, is from an established brand. But folks online say it's only got a single drive gantry and small component passage, so it's limited in what it can do. AXYZ have said they can get a machine in our room but they have an odd non-standard tool changer which wouldn't fit our largest tools. We currently run an old AXYZ machine so we know we can get good service from them - we've had it for 25 years and it still runs great.

We don't need the latest advancements in CNC. Just something reliable with an ATC that we can get good service and maintenance on. We are looking to spend between £40K and £80K. Any help whatsoever is greatly appreciated!
