    New Puma 2100SYII with M110 / M111 issues M31/M131

We wanted to kipware convert proven code, and also mastercam post operations to our Puma 2100SYII, and have noticed M110 and M111 need to flank every operation in the program- this is a hand edit for the guys on the floor, isn't compatible with code conversion, and is pointless because we can't run any tools without the M110 called to cancel the interference check.

In other words it does no safety function, just costs time and money. How do we flip a parameter or Keep relay to shut it off so we can run code without the machine tripping on itself?

Also the M31 and M131 need to flank the part transfer to allow the chuck to rotate with the jaws open. Can we shut that off?

We ran into also a phase sync interference of the M14 and M114 (air blows) and Doosan got us through that with a Keep relay edit- so we're getting somewhere, we are just hoping to get the rest of the way there so we can run off a program in a day and have our 30 year operators drive the machine without the training wheels.

One of the operators told me today that this M110 had one really undesirable side effect, that if a load monitor is kicked in M110 mode, for instance a drill in a hole, he isn't able to do anything but reference the machine, and it wants him to go up in X first. So he was saying that he would have to unbolt the tool from the turret if a load monitor was kicked when the M110 was called.

One of the operators found the collision zone settup page and edited trial and error until we were able to clear all 110 calls except our turn between chucks on this first program. It was application style work that took about 4 hours. Now he's having issues on Tool load monitoring, this machine has a new TLM software- it's not like our 2 TT1800SY's or our Lynx 220LYSC or mills, and if he edits values on one page, the edit populates through all the pages, so it appears that TLM is flawed in this machine, and we're hoping to upgrade to the old version that was functional and like all the other Doosan machines on the floor.

    OK, for M110/M111 - that's interference check.
If needed - it needs to be on a line by itself immediately after a tool call, and is cancelled on a line by itself after the tool is retracted. There is no way currently around this to my knowledge. You'll have to adjust your editor and/or post processor.

For M31/M131 - This is spindle interlock bypass for main spindle (M31) and sub spindle (M131). This allows the spindle to be opened (and closed) during automatic operation. It permits one cycle (open and close) before self cancelling. This is also done on a line by itself - usually right after a tool call. This is necessary to facilitate a bar feed out or part hand off. There is no way around this as the machine will not allow chuck actuation during automatic operation.

You mentioned Tool Load on a different post, but I will address it here.
Although I no longer work for Doosan, I usually counseled most folk to avoid that feature. For this reason - if it does kick an alarm, it resets all of your other M codes that may have been active.

I highly recommend using Fanuc Tool Life Monitor instead. You're a good enough machinist to know that you change your tools before they give out, and it can monitor the number of parts, or number of minutes in the cut, and change out when necessary. Works wonderfully every time.
