    Offset 3D-Probe

    Hello,

    i have a 3D probe that is attached to an extendable arm that is extended and retracted via a stepper motor.
    The probe is offset from the spindle by -60mm in x and -20mm in y. Unfortunately I can only set a maximum offset in x and y of -10 under probe & measure.
    If I enter the values manually in settings.settings and then open Planet CNC, it sets the values back to x-10 y-10.
    How can I hard save the values?

    My software version is 2024.08.27

    Have you asked Planet CNC about this? They might be able to rewrite an ini file to accommodate larger offsets. https://planet-cnc.com/support.html

    This offset was originally used for calibration. But I see no problem with larger numbers. I'll enable this in next version.

    Thank you very much, when will the new version come out?
    Perhaps the range could be made a little more generous. Approximately from -100 to +100 in x and y.

    Re: Offset 3D-Probe

    Very soon

    I've added two zeros so now it is:
    #define DEF_probeOffX_MIN -1000
    #define DEF_probeOffX_MAX +1000
    #define DEF_probeOffY_MIN -1000
    #define DEF_probeOffY_MAX +1000

    Hey there, do you think you could do me a favor and share a few pics of the probe arm setup, please?
    I am setting out to make one myself and could really do with some inspiration. Did you make it yourself and if so, could you even talk a bit about how you did it? What type of bushings/bearings, etc?

    All best,
    David
