Evening,

I've got the chance to pick up the above for almost nothing, the guy needs the space more than he needs the money so I'm going to take it. All of the mechanicals work well but the catch is there is no control computer. The control box etc is there, but no computer.

Its a 240v 2.2kw spindle, single phase I'm assuming and I think the machine is 3 phase. I don't have 3 phase in my shop so either I use a phase converter or strip it back and re do the electronics. The stamped plate states 2.2kw and there is a large hand written sticker with 3HP Elle Spindle...not sure what that means?

I understand everything with these machines is proprietary so would I be right assuming that it's going to need a new control system anyway? I couldn't get a solid look at the motors other than to see that they were 34s.

I saw an old thread where Jazz spoke about upgrading them, checked his shop and will drop him an email tomorrow to discuss.

In the meantime, can anyone advise, if the machine (motors etc) is 3 phase, might there be a chance I can repurpose the current motors with new drives or will I need to replace them as well?

I assume the best way would be to move to something like UCCNC? Can I use that with Aspire/VCarve? I've got it on the work computer so will check the post p next week.

I don't have an issue with pulling the electronics but ideally would like to keep as much as possible to save on cost.

I thought the drive would be Helical but the guy seemed to think it was BS?

If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them, thank you in advance!

I'll upload some pictures of what I have and know.
