    Partner 1D. Removing X & Y Belts and pulleys.

I'm going through and cleaning up the machine. Also wanting to remove and replace the X & Y axis belts and pulleys. The old belts I cut off. The X axis motor is mounted on slots with four Allen head screws. Easy enough. The y-axis though, does not seem to want to be adjusted in the same manner. How do I adjust the y-axis motor to install the new belt?

Also, the pulleys seem to be mounted the same way. But I don't see how they come off, any help here?

Also, there is red grease on the linear rails. But it looks to be VERY old. What grease should I replace this with?

Are there grease/oil lube locations on the machine other than the rails?

I've only done maintenance on manual mills and lathes

To get the big pulley off take out the 2 set screws, and put one in the middle hole and tighten to pull the hub out of the center of the pulley. It's a taper lock.

I can't find where i had the maintenance section of the Partner series, but they recommend something along the lines of Mobile XHP 222 I believe.

Hi Sen. The grease you are looking at id probably a variant of the "red and tacky" the Milltronics calls for Mobilith EP grease ( it is a blue / green color) you can find it at most auto parts stores.

The Y axis motor has no slot adjustments. you will find 2 sets of mounting holes under the motor.

    again give me a call
