Help recieving and transmitting files to Fanuc 6M
Hi all,
I have an old Kitamaru Mycenter-4 with a Fanuc 6MB controller. I'm having a very hard time trying to get the machine to send and receive files. What I have done up to this point is:
Set the settings:
TV Check:0
Punch code:1
Input device 1:1
Input device 2:1
Set the parameters:
311:00011001
340:2
341:2
The pin settings are:
CNC PC
7 ----------- 7
2 ----------- 3
3 ----------- 2
4 ----------- 5
5 ----------- 4
6 |
8 | - are connected on the CNC side
20|
I am using the software DNC Precision in order to receive and transmit.
Re: Help recieving and transmitting files to Fanuc 6M
Hey,
Settings are ok, the cable isn't.
Check websites like Easydnc or aggsoft or many others for the correct pin connection, PC-Modem 9 pin to CNC-port 25 pin.
Re: Help recieving and transmitting files to Fanuc 6M
I should have specified that I'm using a PC 25 pin as well as a CNC 25 pin, are those cable settings still incorrect?
Re: Help recieving and transmitting files to Fanuc 6M
Ok, not sure, but Google ( pictures) Fanuc 6M RS232 connection and you will find the correct one, with or without handshake.
Re: Help recieving and transmitting files to Fanuc 6M
Ok, my pin locations are correct, I am able to receive files from the CNC but I am unable to send them, I am just transmitting through my DNC then, in edit mode, typing O1001 (program # I made for it), then pressing READ but nothing is happening, am I missing something?
Re: Help recieving and transmitting files to Fanuc 6M
OK, try it the other way around.
In EDIT mode -- O1001 [ READ ] or [INPUT ] then on PC-side [ SEND ] via your DNC-software.
Re: Help recieving and transmitting files to Fanuc 6M
I tried doing it the other way around, the word "edit" is still flashing in the bottom right-hand corner, nothing seems to have happened.
Re: Help recieving and transmitting files to Fanuc 6M
Ok, I can't help you with this one, our "oldest" Fanuc is an 0T and it says LSK when it waits for a receive from PC
Re: Help recieving and transmitting files to Fanuc 6M
I don't think its a problem with the actual program, it looks like this:
%
O1001
N10 G90 G94 G17 G49 G40 G80
...
N155 M30
%
- - - Updated - - -
Ok, thank you for your help Heavy_Metal
Re: Help recieving and transmitting files to Fanuc 6M
Make sure O1001 doesn't already exist in memory.
I just hit [READ] in Edit mode and the
%
:1001
....
or
%
O1001
....
in your program file will save it under that program number.
To punch out or delete a program you will have to type out the program number then hit the corresponding key.
