Help choosing a laser cutter/engraver
Hi,
I am a newby to laser cutters and would like suggestions in choosing a good sensibly priced machine. I live in Scotland and have been looking at HPC, Thunderlaser and machines priced in the region of about £4000. I am looking for at least a 60watt co2 laser which will cut 6mm mdf and possibly 8-10mm acrylic. Has anyone any good recommendations please? Look forward to any advice, thanks.

Re: Help choosing a laser cutter/engraver
The Mini60 from Thunderlaser.co.uk is far better than the laserscript machines, I have both, the Mini 60 is much higher quality, servo not stepper motor, uses EFR tubes ( most of Reci R&D dept left Reci to go to EFR ) at least 30mmsec 75% power on 3mm ply and is £3995 including a stand
as opposed to my laserscript ( rebadged Rabbit lasers) wont engrave ( keeps jumping teeth on the belt no matter what I do to try and stop it), cuts really slow and dirty, and both my laserscript machines caught fire......as did my mates, I was lucky but his workshop was totalled, plus his insurance wouldnt pay up....the bards are stepped so pieces dont drop through.
