new desk top build first tests of movement.
i started this a few months back but it started with me buying a cheap $350 machine because i was curious what you could get for so little, and the short answer is not a whole lot :) but it inspired me to see what i could do taking what i liked from that machine and doing away with all the stuff i did not like and ended up with this machine. the cheap import does have the function to become a laser engraver so maybe at some point i will use it for that. but i just got things buttoned up to do a propper test on movement. so i figured i would share here.

Very nice, thanks for sharing.

i have not really had a ton of time to play around with cutting on this machine. i jogged across some aluminum and quickly realized the need to close this machine in. even with it closed in it still manages to get chips out and about where they should not be :) this is just a short video of some cutting trying to figure out how much i can push things on this machine.https://youtu.be/YhD9gpmux-I?si=eo38DkT2tI41HoXO

starting my first real project with this machine to give it a real test actually making something. i would probably go about doing these different if i had more to work with but it was a good test on what i think will be a strong point with this machine. A picture of the end result and a video link if you want to see how the machine did.

Is it just me or does the simulation go in the opposite direction of the machine (or vice versa)? Looks smooth.
Re: new desk top build first tests of movement.
no you are correct but that is fixed, i had trouble getting the tandem axis set up right at first.
