12 wire stepper
Hello,
I got some old (propably russian) steppers. These are something unusul and big. I get 12 wires from it, it has 6 coils ( http://public.fotki.com/extremeFlying/cnc/motors/). What kind of motor is it ? Unipolar bipolar ? What driver do I need for it and how to connect it ? I have a driver for 6 wire motors (unipolar ?). Would it do ? Also I would like to ask if 8 wire motor could be driven with my board.
Thanks for replies !
Cheers,
Robert

forgot to say, every coil has it's output wires (6 coils x2 wires=12 )

Is probali a trephase double speed motors ?
or brucheless dc motor ?

It a stepper for sure, look at the stator and rotor teeth. It came from some kind of drawing mashine or something. I want your advice. Is it useable. I cant get good stepers in my country (big steppers) for my gantry cnc router. I tried other (smaller), and they are too weak and lose steps ( or my interface has to do something with that). Anyway, what about that motor?

Hello Robert,
sorry but also the motors brcheless have the set of
teeth of which you speak and work with driver trifasi in DC.
Sorry
of the little mastery of the English language
