HYBRID NEMA 34 MOTOR AND A NON-HYBRID DRIVER?
HYBRID NEMA 34 MOTOR AND A NON-HYBRID DRIVER?
I'm thinking in a pinch, I should be able to drive a hybrid stepper motor with a basic step and direction driver shouldn't I?
I did a quick test and disconnected the encoder cable form the hybrid driver but it faulted out. but I'm thinking its because the driver needs the feedback. So my guess is a regular driver non-hybrid would drive a hybrid motor just fine.
Is this a correct assumption?

I would expect it to work that way.

Agree with Jim. A couple of my closed loop motors are just double ended Nemas with an encoder fitted on one end. And the closed loop driver.

Cool, those were my thoughts also.
