Rough Cutting
Hi All,
I am new here and this is my very first time using a CNC machine. I am having some issues with the roughness of the cut.
I am trying to cut letters from a 12mm board using a 4mm drill, travelling 20mm/sec doing to passes of 6mm and the spin rate is full.
Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong? I have attached a photo of the cut.
Thanks in advance
Zeak
PS. Not in Australia but close by in Vanuatu

Re: Rough Cutting
Are you really using a drill bit? If so you shouldn't be. If your using a router bit I'm guessing it's a up spiral. Instead try a down spiral or compression spiral bit. It will get rid of the frayed and chipped top edge.

Re: Rough Cutting
Hi Ben, thanks for the advice, yes your correct I am not using a drill bit, it is a spiral up bit. I will try and get my hand on a down or compression bit see how that looks.
is there any good place to order on-line in OZ?
