Slant JR Axis Stuck from Overtravel
Anyone who has worked with these older Nakamura lathes knows the odd trait that is the X axis direction. As you move closer to the spindle X is positive. I tried to change this by following the directions here: https://www.cnczone.com/forums/fanuc...-reversed.html
Well it didn't work. The machine still read the same way only now the machine would not perform a zero return in X and it was acting a bit erratically. I changed the settings back and restarted the machine. It was still acting odd, I thought maybe the zero position was moved to the other side of the axis so I moved X all the way in until it hit the limit switch. Now I cannot get it to go back because the machine triggered an E stop. Holding the stroke and release button cancels the E stop and allows the hydraulics to start running but the axis wont move in any mode (I tried rapid and MDI). How do I fix this? :(
Re: Slant JR Axis Stuck from Overtravel
Which controller? You may have also tripped the soft over travel as well. Power down and power back up hold both the CAN and P keys.Once you get to normal screens you can let go. Now use the OT bypass button and Hand Wheel the X axis

Fanuc 0T-C.
I got the axis freed up. The hand wheel ended up saving me and I was able to move the axis. But the X axis still wont home itself on a RPR. Its just misses 0 and overtravels.

Hold P cancel at power on so the machine goes to find the switch
Used to be on the old controls the IPL screen
If 18tt machine you may have to reset machine home if it lost the connection

This worked. Just had to home the machine after boot and it found 0 again. Thanks!
