G.Weike LC6090 - My experience
Hi there,
This is my first post in this forum.
I use a cnc router (homebuild) for the past few years, and I was thinking of a laser upgrade for a while now. Problem is to find a good / cheap / reliable system.
After a few searches on the Interweb, I found this forum, and after reading billions of posts (well, almost...:D) I have decided to go for a G.Weike laser.
I sent a mail to this company, and Tina, replied back to me with a few specs and good advices on the machine I need for my use (I will cut mainly 3mm plywood, and maybe a few bits of aluminium (rarely, but will be nice to know that I can do it). Contact with Tina was absolutely excellent, very informative, and another thing I found great, is that when I got the list of options that were available, she did not try to over sale, and gave me only what I needed!
So, I went for the LC6090, with 80w laser, and the automatic up/down table.
I have just received the PI, and paiement from the bank is on its way :)
I will keep you updated, as my experience might help someone else who want to take the plounge!
So far : Communication and knowledge/advices from Tina a G.Weike were all spot on! Tina made the entire process of ordering the machine very easy, friendly and always replied to my silly question very quickly. (yeah, I had a few stupid questions! :D )
Now it's up to the shipper here to continue to make this experience still enjoyable, so wait and see!
Stay tuned for more as it comes, and thanks again to Tina!
Fred

Hi all,
Ok, I bring back this thread from the dead!
2 years already!
Just to follow up on my Laser machine, if some are interested.
I am still very happy with it, and the machine is performing flawlessly! Not a single issue, rock solid! :)
And of course, I have a question for the Gweike / WKLaser team. :)
I would like to change the tube from 80W to 100W. I believe this is possible in my machine (this was an old discussion!).
Also, as I read back the thread, especially about cutting aluminium, I had a chat with Tina at the time after some of the posts, and she did indeed confirm that it was not possible with 80W, or even 100 :) While some European manufacturer were still saying that I could. I tried, out of curiosity, and I can't. Just to correct the facts on the thread.
Anyway, all in all, after 2 years of good service, very very happy with my choice of machine, and if I had to buy a second one (hopefully!), this will be from the same people.

Changing the tube from 80w to 100W is easy, just changing tube& powersupply is ok.
Cutting aluminium is impossible with 100w.

Hi Melody,
Many thanks for the quick reply.
No worries, I don't want to cut aluminium, this was just for info :)
So, if I want to upgrade to 100w, I also have to change the power supply? Did not thought of that! D'Oh!
Quick question, as a matter of interest, do you supply tubes? As if I have to change mine, I would much prefer to continue to deal with you. very happy with the service and advises I received so far :)

Re: G.Weike LC6090 - My experience
I recently imported an LC6090 as well. While the build quality is really good for the price, it came with a bunch of issues which have been annoying and costly to figure out and fix. Definitely was not expecting to put so much effort into troubleshooting and being unable to use my laser a weeks after it's been received. My post below:
