Compressor wheel
I am currently in the process of looking for a compressor wheel. I am either making the kj-66 or gt-2000. Both of them require a 66mm (approx. 2.598 inch diameter) compressor. I found a a very cheap compressor wheel from ct-26 equiped Toyota Supra. However, the dimensions are just slightly smaller. The inducer diameter is 1.775 (45.085mm) and the exducer diamter is 2.558 (64.9732mm).
Do you think this small change in diamters will make a difference. Is it possile to use this the compressor if I tweak the difffuser dimensions? What else would I have to change and how should I go about changing these things?
Thanks

All I can say is start reading books there are alot of calculations to be made, all compressor aren't made the same. When you start changing one thing others have to be changed also. The Kamps book is perfect also check out the GTBA website. http://www.gtba.co.uk/

To add to your problem or maybe help. You can buy certified turbine's from Wren in the UK. Mine are certified for 125k and will be able to use them in a model. I am not sure if the regular ones from cars or light trucks will take the abuse we give them. If you use one from a car or somewhere please do me a favour and have it checked for cracks by a company that does this type of work. The KJ is a good engine for a DIY and most of them where started from that design.
