Scorch Works on Windows 10

Lately I've been using F-engrave and it seems to have slowed down tremendously on my Win 10 machine. Just opening is taking more than 30 seconds to get the program screen. I just tried dmap2gcode and Win 10 complained immediadely about publisher and would not run it at all. I eventually discovered that if I click on more info, then the dialog will also offer a button to let the program run anyway. It's not obvious.

Once dmap2gcode opens, it takes a very long time to read an image file. Same thing is happening in F-Engrave (which used to work just fine on Win 10). I am not able to get any code out as the program seems to just hang when trying to save code. Not lock up, but nothing happens.
