Hitachi Seiki HITEC-TURN 20 SII (Seiki Multi) - Putty Terminal
Hello,
We have a Hitachi Seiki HITEC-TURN 20 SII which uses the Seiki Multi control panel.
We are trying to allow users to import/export programs from a laptop, we have the Putty terminal installed with a USB-RS232 connector and we have tried the following settings (separated by a /) but they have not worked, any ideas on if this is possible and if so what have I gotten wrong?
Putty Terminal:
Speed(baud): 9600 / 4800 / 2400
Data Bits: 8 / 7
Stop Bits: 2 / 1
Parity: None / Even
Flow Control: XON/XOFF / None
Seiki Panel:
Speed(baud): 9600 / 4800 / 2400
Stop Bits: 2 / 1
Control: Used / Available
We are not attached to using Putty so if there is some other terminal interface that works i would be interested in that too, any help is greatly appriciated.
Re: Hitachi Seiki HITEC-TURN 20 SII (Seiki Multi) - Putty Terminal
...9600 7 E 1 is most common to use with Software Handshake XON/XOFF. Other problems maybe causing your issue. Format of the Start and Finish of the program is one thing...Comm Port number the USB/PC is using also double check. If, you hold down the Windows Key and Hit R...the Run window will open then type "devmgmt.msc" then hit Enter to check Comm Port settings. Also, what Serial Cable wiring are you using CNC to USB?
Post your Program if, you can would help.

Hello
What multi control? LX3 or i80?
It’s probably just a setting issue but I have had some issues with USB to RS232 adapters.
You can PM me your email and I’ll assist further

Re: Hitachi Seiki HITEC-TURN 20 SII (Seiki Multi) - Putty Terminal
The putty terminal opens so i am getting the right com port, if i short the pins out then i get the echo reply, just nothing in or out of the machine iteself.
The cable i am using is: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07ZJ673...roduct_details
Not sure what you mean by post your program... unless you mean what i am trying to upload.
So far i have only tried to download the existing programs from the machine which doesnt output anything in the terminal.

...so, which Comm Port is the USB unit? Is the software installed ok? it should be listed in Device Manager with comm number.
Re: Hitachi Seiki HITEC-TURN 20 SII (Seiki Multi) - Putty Terminal
...get a tester of some kind with led lights..

and you might need a Null modem cable/converter

Re: Hitachi Seiki HITEC-TURN 20 SII (Seiki Multi) - Putty Terminal
I wrote a simple program that transfers programs to and from a LX2 Multi control, if you'd like it it may work for you/give you more info on what you need to do to get your own program running... Don't know if it'll apply to your newer than my control, but like I said, it's quite simple.
