Yes he is or was anyway. I purchased my air cooled spindle from him, and I wish I would have purchased my VFD from them also. My personal opinion is the Hitachi drive I purchased was over priced and had features I did not need. I have been a customer of AT for years.

With the drag chain shelves in place,
I can now move on to actual wiring.
WIRING:
All wiring is color coded. Signal
level cables for the servos carry
also a plug for the servo fans:

Bring up all the wires and tubing through
the lower drag chain up to gantry height:
Attachment 414700
Place all wires and tubing going to the
X-carriage onto the upper drag chain.
Pull the wires going to A-servo through
the 80/20 to the other side:
Attachment 414702
Place the red spacer on the gantry end.
Arrange Y-side wires for proper length
and tuck in the rest into the 80/20:

No that is incorrect
For 240v use R and T your ( 2 ) Hot wires for this VFD Drive and Ground to the Ground Terminal, if you give me the drive and spindle spec's I will post you the correct VFD Parameter settings
I see you had a white wire in the mix that is why I asked if you had 120v or 240v you must cover the white wire either Black or Red does not have to have total cover

They don't have all the correct setup Parameters

Very observant mactec54. Amazing how
different trades zoom in into their particular
areas of knowledge. I am thankful, will do.

This is the eBay listing:

I just have a generic HY manual. Where do I find the specs?
And this is the sheet that came with the spindle:

You need to call or email them they are wrong, because they have been selling VFD's and spindles for years. Plus many other products. Many people who do CNC professionally rely on Automation Technology or good quality items
.https://www.automationtechnologiesin...cts-page/vfds/
You will find your setup Info on this page , if its the same model... please check otherwise go back to the other link> https://www.automationtechnologiesin...vfds/kl-vfd22/

The red text in the picture says connect both hot wires to R&T which is correct. The Earth or Equipment ground goes to the Ground terminal. White wire must be covered or colored with any color other than Green or White. Red or black are usually used.

The spindle part is ok just the drive spec's

There wording and diagram do not match and the output wiring information is also incorrect

Re: David A's New 2x3 Bench Top CNC
The place I am in is a 50-60 year old, not very well maintained industrial building.
I do have one 240V circuit and the breaker on it says 20A.
The existing 240V wall plug has only 2 wires. Both black. No green at all.
The existing plug is at the wrong place and I need an extension cord for connection.
I did use a 12/3ga cable I had at hand with black/white/green wires.
I connected a green wire to the metal box of the existing wall outlet
(All metal conduits but very old and beaten up).
This is how I wired up the plug.
The L-shaped terminal is the green cable.
The other are from the two black wires on the wall:
Attachment 414718
The voltage between the two circular poles measures 226V:
Attachment 414720
The voltage between the green and one terminal measures 137V:
Attachment 414722
The other one to green measures 118V:
Attachment 414724
I have no idea why the two are different.
The laptop and the PS power up just fine.

David that is very common in a older building, as long as you have the 240 volts line to line and the green wire is actually connected to a ground your fine. its not right but thats what you have to work with.
What Mac is doing is making sure you do not have a Chinese "knock off" of the very well known and popular drive the HY. If its a knock off then it may not be the same.
BTW I used to carry a bottle of red finger nail polish in my service truck to color those white wires!!

Why don't you post that over here on there CNC Zone Forum? https://www.cnczone.com/forums/autom...logy-products/
Re: David A's New 2x3 Bench Top CNC
Thanks wmgeorge. I will just use a heat shrink over the white wire or some markers.
The website I bought the VFD and spindle from has a pretty good rating on eBay.
Let's hope it is not a knock off.
