Merry Christmas everyone.
Season's Greetings to all!
(stainless fab) I used your nice font.
For those of you who want to try to convert these images of a pair of cabinet doors that i designed. Here are they are. I couldn't get Inkscape to convert them as there is just to many nodes and it would take me for ever to lower their count.

The extension works just as well in Windows Vista.
ronald44181000,
Thanks, thats good to know.
I'll add that to my blog, all I run is Win XP, so I wasn't sure about others.
Thanks again.

SWITCHER... u are the champion of this thread:)....i saw in another thread ur Sketch2Code prograamm..u are really a genious man...
Khalid,
Yea, Sketch2Code was fun, I should finish that program some day.
My idea behind that program started out as a way to hand trace 2D objects that would write the g-code.

Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy New Year. Here's one for you. I followed the link fom the top of the page and I'm fairly impressed with the Vectric V Carve Pro software, in so far as I think it will fill a need I have in machining signage. My own occupation as a shopfitter has taken a big hit with the global recession and I have a big CNC router gathering dust in my shop. I have always cut out my own signs but AlphaCam is more dedicated to joinery than cutting letters even though it does a nice job on 3D carving, the question I have is can I run V Carve Pro alongside Alphacam and would it be compatible with my post or could I just design everything in V Carve and use the Input CAM or Input NC command in AlphaCam? Would V Carve recognise my tool menu ???
Your best bet is to ask Vectric directly about your options as far as what your options are. They will answer any of your questions, and usually the same day. With my experience in using Vectric products, if you can justify the expense I would strongly suggest buying their new Aspire software instead of VCarve. For sign making as well as general wood, metal and composite material usage Vcarve is a great software package. But Aspire is basically VCarve; Cut3D; PhotoCarve and Cut2D in an all in one package.
And with the description of your machine capabilities I have to admit that I am extremely jealous.
Switcher after using your suggestions in Inkscape along with your instructions in its usage and now with your Sketch2Code program. I have finally taken the next step and have decided to learn how to program with Visual Basic Express. I've spent countless hours looking for a low cost image depth mapping program that can handle more than 2 colors. So now I'm going to develop one (if it kills me) or go insane trying. I must say though that you are a great inspirer and for that I thank you.
Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year.
Thanks for the swift response Ronald, yeah 6 months ago I had a slack period and I asked the people at Vectric would my SCM nested router be compatible and I remember getting a reply asking what post processor was I running. To this day I still dont know. When I have my programme done in AlphaCam I Export NC to Xilog+. This seems to take care of machining. I'm a joiner for 20 yrs before I started with CNC.
In determining which post processor your running, did anyone offer to figure it out? If not I'd be willing to take a shot at it.
Email me the specifications for your machine, such as manufacturer; serial and model numbers as well as controller description and I'll take a crack t it.
Send it directly to [email protected].
Sad to admit it, but the holidays are just an excuse to stay home for me personnally.

ronald44181000,
Thanks, I appreciate that. :)
As far as vb.net, It's kinda cool when you write that first program, I couldn't tell you how many hours (a lot) I've spent working on vb.net projects, just as a hobby. :)
I've got a couple of small programs that I'll share for grayscale & selective grayscale, start a new thread here on cnczone & I'll post them rather than email, just in case someone else might want to use them. The code isn't everything you wanted/mentioned above but it might get you started.
Merry Christmas, everyone.
