Hi, I'm new here in this forum but not in the CNC industry I'm here to help...
Just joined and anyone with questions feel free to send me a message. Ive been programming and machining CNC mills for over 25 yrs, and CNC lathes for about 3 yrs. Im also a tool & die maker as well as an engineer. But just like everyone im learning new things just about every day.
Fairly new to CNC worked as labor at a friends shop and he recommended i come here for my next project.
Messsing around on lathes with Delron for automotive shift knobs using CAD to transfer my free hand design to G codes for running on a CNC lathe. Still Learning.
I'm Alan, I have been in the CNC machining industry in some shape or form since '96. I was a teacher of CNC Machining, Mastercam and Solidworks for the last 8-9 years. I am currently working for a local University here in Australia on various additive manufacturing projects. I am currently using a Trumpf Trulaser cell 7020 for this project. I am also fortunate enough to have access to their workshop and make various parts for my car.
Cheers
Alan

Hi from Chico! Been working with some big old CNC routers for the last year or so, but looking to branch out and build my own 'mini' home CNC router/printer!

Hello all, My name is Trevor. I have just finished building a Bridgeport Series2 CNC milling machine. I stripped off the old stepper motor control system and replaced it with a Mitsubishi MRJ2s Servo system controlled by a Q series PLC motion control system and I custom designed a Windows 7 application which takes GCode files directly and sends them to the PLC for processing. I am a software and electronics engineer but don't know very much about machining. So the advice from this site is very useful to help me learn about machining.
Hello machinists, I am Daniel and I am an engineering student at Chico State. I enjoy spending time in the shop making things. I graduate in the fall, and would like to work for a company that uses automated machine tools.
