My Pirates are off today so maybe I'll work on the sand blaster stand but maybe I'll just go outside and work on my tan.;)

Thinking about picking up one of these benchtop injection molders in the near future (inheritance)
LNS Technologies - Hobby Bench Plastic Injection Molding Machine - Bench Injection Molder
Model-E
Leaning towards the first with it's larger mold capacity but the 2nd isn't a kickstarter deal though I'm sure whatever I get will get the Hoss treatment.;)
Lot easier than making one from scratch.
Anyone know of any others out there?
Not interested in anything large, you've seen my shop size.:)

Looks cool. Just for fun or do you see projects for it that 3d printing won't do?
both, would make parts much quicker than printing.
Hoss
Seems easy enough to make that on your own though.
The PID and heaters is under $40-50 on ebay. Other than that it's just a plunger with a nozzle. I'd probably just start with an old cheap drill press for the stand/platform/bar and adjustment. And easy peasy.
Injection molding is a great tech to have but it is more limited than 3d printing for quite a few things. Then again, those things that it isn't limited by it's MUCH faster.
Yeah but I have enough projects on the list.;)
3D printing is indeed awesome but I have the need for speed on some prototypes made on the printer.
Once molds are made on the mill production will go from hours to a minute.

This one might be doable, definitely better capacity.
Small Manual Benchtop Plastic Injection Molding Machine

Seems rather slow.
No auto ejection.
Lot's of extra little steps...
Have you seen this?
DIY injection molding how-to - YouTube
Didn't watch it all but I did like the big air cylinder for the injector, I already have a big one to maybe mod the first 2 types.
He's running way more production than I need to but it's interesting to watch none the less.
Thanks, Hoss
Found this benchtop plastic injector on youtube.

Has some automation which I like and they have bigger models I'll have to inquire about.
AB-100 Plastic Injector
Will have to get the 0704 into mold making mode, I used to do it for a living but much larger.

That one seems rather perfect. Love the hopper loader too.
Here's one more I stumbled on.
Desktop Injection Molding Machine - YouTube!
That's a cool little thing, I may have to reconsider a DIY version, thanks.

Finished making this ebay abrasive blaster portable for my shop.
80PSI Abrasive Sand Blast Blaster Cabinet Sandblaster | eBay
Pretty nice unit.
Up next is the G0704's new chip tray and enclosure, all the parts have been gathered. :)

I know my blast cab doesn't like having a ton of sand on the intake tube. If you find it not working as well as expected, put in just enough to keep the inlet covered while blasting.
Hoss, do you mind reporting back on the effectiveness of that sandblaster gun. Most sandblast setups use significantly higher cfm, example powder coat prep of most auto parts is 14cfm at 90psi. I see that kit has ceramic nozzles which have a decent wear to them but have heard carbide nozzles can be had with very small orffaces to reduce the cfm and required, they also last longer. I have a run of the mill hf like 60lb blaster cabinet for cleaning old rusty parts or paint prep. I have about 90 gal of air storage (I blast at 90psi and 16cfm). I can burn through a tank if I want to be very aggressive with the cleaning, however if I get a new ceramic nozzle on an dial thing way back I can run forever, but its like blasting with a small air brush its not real effective. I'd love to hear some feedback on the cabinet, one of those would be great to have in the basement shop if they can hold their own.
