Hoss G0704 CNC plans still available
I'm planning a Grizzly G0704 CNC conversion and would like to buy Hoss plans. The website is only half working not sure if he is still selling the plans. Specifically I want to adapters for motor and plans for machining the ballscrews and specing out the tapered bearings.

Get em while you can, probably won't renew the website after this year if it can't pay for itself.

Hoss-Since posting this I changed direction and ordered the SiegX2 from Harbor Freight. I'd prefer to go with your plans I've been trying to find some pictures of what your conversion looks like but the hossmachine website appears to be mostly down.
I'd like plans that include source for ball screw/nut/angular contact bearings and prints for all the mounting fabricated parts I'll need to make. I have good big manual machining equipment so I'm well prepared to make everything I just don't feel like reinventing everything that has already been done and refined by someone else like you.
One question/comment: I have cruised this forum extensively. I have discovered you're using roton screw/nuts. I went to thier website and thier economical nut looks like it may be a single nut design with no back lash adjustment. I saw somewhere you mentioned putting larger ball bearings in the nut to tighten it. If this is still a practical option I'll do it but since these conversions have been going on for a few years now is that still your recommendation? Looks like different nuts mount different and therefore would not be interchangable so whatever plans I purchase is going to be what I run for the screw/nut.

These plans need to be permanently archived somewhere.

Still available on my site. Nobody archives them but me.
It's not going anywhere, I'm back into CNC and just rebuilt the old X2 Freak from the ground up too. Use it at work now.

Re: Hoss G0704 CNC plans still available
I had the gastric sleeve surgery almost 4 years ago. People probably didn't know I was wheelchair bound since 2011 with the weight and arthritic knees.
300 off and new titanium knees I made on the g0704 (just kidding) but back to work 2 years ago and hiking every weekend got in the way of CNC but back at it now. Completely rebuilt the X2 freak with UCCNC Feb/April and took it to work to make parts there. I'll have to sneak a few pics. Have the ATC4 on it too.

Congratulations on your weight loss journey! And it's great to see you are back to CNC! I have your CD from years ago and it's been handy many times as my G0704 project has progressed.

Always knew you had issues, saw the swollen hands in the videos and could hear your breathing efforts.
Glad to hear you are doing well. Hiking beats sitting any day.
Cant wait to see any new ideas, builds or projects on the tube.

Re: Hoss G0704 CNC plans still available
HOSS glad to hear about the health improvements.
Mach3 or UCCNC, I hear UCCNC has better CV control compared to Mach3.

Re: Hoss G0704 CNC plans still available
I run UCCNC on the G0704 now with a UC400 board, love it. Great probing pages and easy to set it up. Only thing I didn't figure out yet was
the ATC macro but I adapted the ATC4 onto the X2 at work which still uses Mach 3, already had all that ready to go for Mach 3.

Re: Hoss G0704 CNC plans still available
Hello anyone.
I am new to all this and am wanting to be able to cut electrical panels. At most 1/8 steel. I need the capability to work around a 36x36 area give or take.
My questions are: Is there an option to build a mill strong enough for this with any of your accumulated knowledge?
What would i need to be looking for? Spindle size, steppers, ect.
Hoss...can you help me out? ...ill pay.

Why would you even use a mill for this. You should either cut it with a metal circular saw or a plasma cutter and if you want to automate then simply use plasma cnc with a feed table.

Re: Hoss G0704 CNC plans still available
Evening everyone,
Hoping I have some luck here. Purchased Hoss's plans way back in 2015 and lost the harddrive they were stored on, but now finally getting a chance to move forward with the mods just a few years later... Went back to the drop-box links provided when you purchase and those no long work. Anyone aware of new links to download the plans? I still have my .zip file password so hoping I can just get my hands on the source again.
Thanks in advance for any help.
